Infographic Debate and Reflection

Description

The topic I chose for this project as "Should companies be allowed to refuse service to same-sex customers?". I see this as a topic that has an obvious answer. No. People shouldn't be allowed to do this. Not only is it morally wrong, but it also breaks many discrimination laws.

Reflection

I chose this topic because it is a topic that affects me personally, and I feel as though I would be able to convince most people to agree with my side of the argument. I chose this side of the argument because it's the right thing to do. It doesn't promote discrimination against anyone, in fact it discourages that behavior. And I do personally believe in my side of the argument, companies should NOT be allowed to refuse service to same-sex customers.

For me researching only one side of the argument wasn't that difficult, because I know what the other sides arguments would be, because I've had to deal with it and I've seen it happen in multiple different situations. But it's also a bit different for this topic, because a lot of the arguments against my side would be pretty hard to get across without sounding bigoted and homophobic.  It was actually quite easy to stay focused and biased to my side of the argument.

I chose the formatting, colors, and images with the theme of the rainbow in mind. This is for obvious reasons; the pride flag is comprised of the colors of the rainbow, and also now includes other colors, such as the colors of the trans flag. I chose the theme to give a clear representation of what this presentation is about.

I believe that my Infographic was very effective at getting my point across. I used examples that many people can relate to. Almost everyone has had a time in their life where they wished they had someone to just be kind to them, which ties directly into one of my points.
